learnfest | orange county children photographer | cindy chen

Last week, I traveled to Atlanta, GA and attended the most amazing children’s photography workshop, Learnfest.   It was an awesome experience… not only because of the super talented photographers that I got to learn from and shoot with, but also because of the 59 other photographers from around the world that I had the opportunity to meet and network with. I learned so much during the four days I was there and I can’t wait to bring those things my business!

Our amazing Learnfest presenters and children photographers
Audrey Woulard, Tamara Lackey, Laura Novak, Lena Hyde

Here are some of my images when my group got to shoot with Tamara (day 1) and Audrey (day 2).

Isn’t she adorable!

Little Brother & Big Brother

More brothers!

And the adorable little D is back for more!  I just love her chubby cheeks!

After two long days of teaching, the fab four is still fabulous!

Ok, I realized that I didn’t post any pictures with me in them!  Actually, when you’re behind the camera, all too often, that’s where you stay!  I was able to get these group shots off of the camera of my wonderful roomie, North Carolina photographer, Katie Williams.  Thanks Katie!

And before I go, I just have to say how wonderful staying at the Chateau Elan was!   Not only was it a beautiful resort, their service was superb!  Everything was great…. from the accomodations (oh, that super plush bed) to the wine from their winery.  We were well taken care of!  And to pamper myself a little while I was away, I went to spa party with a few of my new learnfest friends!  A relaxing massage, chocolate covered strawberries, and wine… definitely a great way to spend an evening!

Q&A
(if you don’t see the answer to your question here, just send me an email at info@cindychenphotography.com)

What is a playdate card?
We have two different types of playdate card available… for the littles and for the bigs!
Mommy Cards: Ever been at the park or a class, and you meet a cool kid with a cool mom that you want to get together with again?  Now you’ll have an easy way to give out your information.  Mommy cards are custom designed “mommy” business cards with your child’s picture, name, and your contact information.  There’s room on the back to write notes too!
411 Cards:  411 cards are all the rage on the tween and teen scene.  These custom designed cards contain your two favorite images (front and back) as well as your child’s contact information (name, cell phone, email).  Designs for both girls and guys are available.

Can I book a spot for family pictures?
I’m sorry, but playdate mini sessions are for kids only this time! (infant to high school senior)

If photographing an infant or toddler, it may be necessary to include mom or dad, but the focus will remain on baby.

I have more than one child.  Do I have to book more than one session?
Two siblings may share one spot.  Due to time constraints, if you have more than 2 children, I recommend booking two spots.  If you do have two children sharing a spot, please note that you will only receive one set (one design) of playdate cards using an image of both children together.  Additional cards are available for purchase if you prefer each child to have their own set of playdate cards.

I LOVE my playdate cards.  Can I order more?
Yes!  Extra playdate cards are available.  Each set of 20 cards (one design) is $15.  If you order 4 additional sets, you get 1 set free (total of 100 playdate cards for $60).

Can I make subsititions to the mini session package?
No, the package is set and there are no substitutions.

I don’t have a group to create my own playdate session.  Can I still sign up?
Yes!  I have prescheduled playdate sessions on my blog (April dates are posted above and May dates will be announced in two weeks).  If you can’t make one of the scheduled playdates or you’ve missed them, just send me an email at info@cindychenphotography.com with your name, location, and playdate mini session and I’ll keep you updated on sessions in your area.

I’m ready to sign up!  What do I do next?
Shoot me an email (info@cindychenphotography.com) or use the contact form in the menu bar above.  Just let me know what date and
time (sessions are booked in 20 minute intervals) you are interested in and I’ll get you the rest of the info from there.  Super easy!

I am so excited about these and am looking forward to my April playdates!  Yay!
